Worth a Visit

Bustling village pub under long-serving owners; cheerful neatly kept bar, plenty of smart tables and chairs on stripped-wood floors, open fire at one end, John Smiths and Theakstons kept well, enjoyable fairly priced home-cooked food (smaller appetites catered for), spacious restaurant with pleasant views over surrounding fields; background music, pool, free wi-fi; children and dogs (in bar) welcome, pleasant garden, paddock with ponies, pub also has fishing rights on adjacent River Derwent, open (and food) all day weekends, closed Mon lunchtime
