The good pub guide review

The front terrace and garden of this attractive whitewashed free house have picnic-sets, benches and rustic tables as well as parasols and heaters. With up to 15 regularly changing real ales on handpump to choose from here, there's always going to be an enthusiastic crowd keen to try the offerings served by knowledgeable, friendly staff. There might be Arbor Shangri-La, Banks's Bitter, Bathams Best Bitter, Exmoor Gold, Hobsons Twisted Spire, Hook Norton Hooky Mild, Purity Bunny Hop, Otter Bitter, Ringwood Wainwright and Woods Shropshire Lad and. Also, five farm ciders, more than 30 malt whiskies, more than 30 gins, ten bottled craft ales/lagers and ten wines by the glass including pudding ones. A series of snug, individually decorated rooms, separated by a couple of steps and with two open fires, have leather armchairs, pews sometimes arranged as booths and a mix of tables (including sturdy ones stained different colours). There are bare boards here, flagstones there, carpet elsewhere, plenty of interesting pictures and homely touches such as house plants, shelves of well thumbed books and daily papers; board games.
