What the licensee says

Dating back to 1750 this old coaching Inn is located in a small rural conservation village just over the Scottish border. Winner of the CAMRA Borders & South East Scotland pub of the year 2009 & 2010. The Inn has 3 real ale pumps with Scottish 80 shilling as the popular house ale. The Inn is well known locally for the excellent home cooked food and it is necessary to book during the summer months and weekends in the winter. Located close to the Cheviot mountains it is popular with walkers and is famous for being at the end of the 268 mile Pennine Way. Also popular with fishermen who fish the nearby river Tweed and sportsmen with the local game shoots. The bar is a cosy traditional bar with log fire in the winter & with mulled wine, malt whisky & wine served by the glass. Families welcome
