Pretty little thatched cottage; main quary-tiled bar with woodburner, built-in cushioned wall seats and country chairs around scrubbed kitchen tables, Butcombe Bitter and St Austell Tribute, local cider and 14 wines by the glass, steps up to carpeted dining area with a few low sagging beams and half-panelled walls, similar furnishings including one table set into former inglenook, fair choice of popular food, second dining area and separate attractive restaurant; background classical music, TV, free wi-fi; children and dogs (in bar) welcome, picnic-sets on grass, herb garden, handy for the Fleet Air Arm Museum, bedrooms

The Kingsdon Inn is a charming 300 year old thatched pub set in the picturesque village of Kingsdon, close to the Somerset levels. Moments from the A303, we pride ourselves on the excellence of our food, our local ales, fine wines and accommodation.We have a wide selection of guest beers provided by local micro breweries and are renowned for our food, sourcing ingredients locally where possible. Over the past few years we have been delighted with our visits to this pub. I note that it is now shown as under new management but, more importantly, when we visited some 2 weeks ago it was closed for restoration after a bad fire. There was no indication of how long this work would take.
