Extended 19th-c roadside pub with enjoyable good value food from varied menu, eight well kept ales including a house beer from Woods named after pub's chocolate labrador Blaze, teas and coffees, friendly helpful service, well divided open-plan interior with mix of furniture on wood or carpeted floors, woodburners and some interesting bits and pieces; sports TV, pool; children, dogs and muddy boots welcome, play area on side lawn, handy for Sandstone Trail and Llangollen Canal, open (and food) all day
