Wilkes Head

The good pub guide review

Friendly no-frills three-room local dating from the early 18th c; five changing ales including Whim, four real ciders and good choice of whiskies, no food; juke box in back room and regular live music events including festivals organised by musician landlord; children allowed in one room (not really a family pub), dogs on leads (but do ask first), fair disabled access, large garden with stage, open from 3pm Mon, Tues and Thurs, otherwise open all day.
