Busy pub in lovely position overlooking fast-flowing River Test; spacious beamed and carpeted bar with fishing paraphernalia, rustic pub furnishings and woodburner, Fullers ales and extensive range of wines by the glass, generally well liked food (must book for a good table and they may add a surcharge if you pay by credit card), conservatory; background music; well behaved children and dogs welcome, plenty of riverside picnic-sets on decking and grass, open (and food) all day
