Small civilised but relaxed Victorian hotel with two bars; traditional wood furnishings, seafaring paraphernalia and log fire in pubby bare-boards Pump bar, comfortable more refined front bar reminiscent of a naval wardroom, three well kept ales including Goddards, eight wines by the glass from good list, local gin and well executed pub fare, also first class upscale food in separate restaurant, pleasant helpful staff; background music; children welcome, dogs in bar, sea glimpses from tables on tiny front terrace, 13 bedrooms (seven in modern back annexe), self-catering cottage, good breakfast, open all day.
