Former coaching inn with striking timbered façade and well updated open-plan interior; bar area with comfortable seating on wood or tiled floors, massive beams and timbers in one corner, log fires, wide choice of enjoyable food from sandwiches and sharing plates up, well kept ales such as Fullers London Pride and Sharps Doom Bar, craft kegs and plenty of wines by the glass, large back restaurant; children welcome, modern furniture and seating booths in sheltered courtyard, open (and food) all day, busy at weekends when best to book
