Worth a Visit

16th-c pub worth knowing for its charming setting by unusual swing bridge over Grand Union Canal; low-beamed three-room core with inglenooks, traditional furniture including settles, a few sofas, three Charles Wells ales and good selection of wines by the glass, food from british tapas to burgers (they may ask to keep a credit card while you eat), bay-windowed extension overlooking canal; background music, comedy and quiz nights; children welcome, picnic-sets out by the water, open (and food) all day

What the licensee says

Tucked away down an "invisible" lane The Three Horseshoes is one of the quaintest pub's you are likely to come across. A large part of it dates back to 1535 and it retains much of its character with low beamed ceilings and, in winter, open log fires to warm and welcome you. In summer you can laze by the canal and watch the canal boats navigate the unusual swing bridge.Traditional pub food is served at very reasonable prices and the well-kept real ales are Spitfire, Directors and IPA. Well worth a visit.

A nice pub, but more food orientated than beer nowadays. Some passable cask usually.

This a lovely 500 year old canal side pub. It is one of my favourites, but I have not been in two years. Such an atmospheric place does not need deafening pop music, it does need fires on on a cold day and wifi is essential. What do the tenants think they are doing?

Used to be a firm favourite but noticed lately standard has declined. Food just OK and custoner service practically non-existent. No care and attention or desire to please. Took a long time to take our order, and though food arrived quickly, but looked like it had been thrown together, swimming in gravy. Didn't offer any sauces etc and didn't check if we were happy. Very expensive too. Big shame, as used to be lovely to eat here. Owners need to address or customers will be lost and go elsewhere ...
