Worth a Visit

Atmospheric corner pub commemorating the notorious town councillor thief who was eventually hanged on the scaffold he'd designed; very busy bar with wonderfully ornate high ceiling, seven well kept ales and decent selection of whiskies from long counter, reasonably priced Nicholsons menu in upstairs dining lounge where children allowed, friendly hard-working staff; background music, TV; open (and food) all day
