Busy, lively, chatty place with fine drinks and food - great fun

This was a house in the mid 19th-c and E M Forster once lived here. It later became university offices and in 2013 was revamped and opened up as a pub on two floors. A fantastic range of drinks and up-to-date tasty food ensure the place is always packed with customers of all ages. The bar and dining rooms are simply furnished with wooden tables and chairs and cushioned wall seating on parquet floors, industrial-style lamps hanging from the ceiling and bird prints lining the walls; background music. Efficient, friendly staff keep Adnams Ghost Ship and Southwold, Marble Pint, Oakham JHB and a guest on handpump, up to 17 craft ales, a good choice of wines and around 60 gins. There are a couple of upstairs dining rooms, similarly furnished, and a split-level, canopy-covered courtyard with chunky picnic-sets and fairy lights. The pub is handy for the Cambridge Arts Theatre and the Corn Exchange. Wheelchair access and loos.

Fun vibe, nice and busy, with plenty of really tasty interesting beer on tap. Plus a whole book of gin! Definitely recommend it - seems to be something for everyone.
