Bankes Arms

The good pub guide review

Historic 16th-c Purbeck stone inn at beginning of Jurassic Coast Path above fine beach, outstanding country, sea and cliff views from huge garden over road with lots of seating; comfortably traditional big bar with raised drinking area, beams, flagstones and large log fire, nine real ales including own Isle of Purbeck, local cider, decent wines by the glass and home-made food including pub classics; over-8s and dogs welcome, just off coast path near to Old Harry Rocks, can get very busy on summer weekends (parking in NT car park), ten bedrooms (Studland Bay views from front ones), open (and food) all day.
