Worth a Visit

Unspoilt and unchanging village pub in same family for over 250 years; simply furnished panelled rooms, beams in ochre ceiling, old photographs and ancient one-handed clock, woodburner, glass-panelled hatch serving well kept Arkells, West Berkshire and a monthly guest, Upton cider and nice house wines, good value rolls, ploughman's and winter soup, traditional pub games; no mobile phones or credit cards; well behaved children and dogs welcome, seats in quiet cottagey garden by cricket ground, animals in paddock behind pub, maybe Christmas mummers and summer morris, closed Mon (open lunchtime bank holidays), can get busy weekends
