Splendidly old-fashioned local with log fire in big inglenook, Harveys Best and guests tapped from stillroom casks, enjoyable home-cooked food (not Sun evening), jugs and ancient corkscrews on very low beams, collection of cigarette boxes and old bottles, various stuffed animals including a stoat and crocodile, more bric-a-brac and old local photographs in back parlour with views of quiet countryside; occasional folk music and morris men; children away from bar and dogs welcome, picnic-sets out at front, closed evenings 25 and 26 Dec, 1 Jan
