Very special old drinkers' pub (former 16th-c maltings painted a distinctive pink), in landlady's family for five generations and quite unchanging and unspoilt; small characterful rooms and snugs, traditional furniture including a nice high-backed settle, woodburner, the 'bar' is landlady's front parlour (as notice on the door politely reminds customers), up to nine well kept ales tapped from the cask, simple food including good ploughman's, friendly staff and locals; live folk and blues, no background music, mobile phones or credit cards; children and dogs welcome, picnic-sets out overlooking weir.
