The good pub guide review
Plain old brick pub with own good Sarah Hughes ales from traditional Victorian tower brewery behind; cheery locals in simple quarry-tiled drinking corridor, little snug on left with wall settles, imposing green-tiled marble fireplace and glazed serving hatch, blackened range in sparse tap room on right, also a dark-panelled lounge with sturdy red leather wall settles and dramatic sea prints, plant-filled conservatory (no seats), little food apart from cobs; no credit cards or dogs; children allowed in some parts including garden with play area.
