Babbity Bowster

The good pub guide review

A Glasgow institution, this 18th-c former tobacco merchant's house changed hands in 2020 for first time in 30 years when long-standing, one-eyed landlord retired, now owned by large pub group; refurb to simply decorated light-filled interior with tall windows, dark wood tables and chairs, banquettes and attractive artwork, Caledonian Deuchars IPA, Fyne Ales Jarl and a changing guest on air-pressure tall founts and good collection of wines and malt whiskies, bistro-style food from lunchtime soup up; traditional live music Weds and Sat afternoons; children welcome if dining, terrace with string lighting, picnic-sets and parasols, six modern bedrooms, open (and food) all day.
