Mr Thomas’s Chop House

The good pub guide review

Interesting late 19th-c pub with well preserved original features; generously served food including signature corned beef hash, ales such as Black Sheep and Timothy Taylors, decent range of wines by the glass from long list; front bar with panelling, old gas lamp fittings and framed cartoons, stools at wall and window shelves, back green-tiled eating areas have rows of tables on black and white Victorian tiles, archways and high ceilings; seats out at back, open (and food) all day.
