Pleasantly extended 17th-c stone pub (former coaching inn); opened-up beamed interior keeping feel of separate areas, mostly carpeted with mix of pubby furniture including some old settles (built-in one by log fire), smallish bar with comfortable seating and woodburner in snug flagstoned area, Marstons-related ales and enjoyable food (not Sun evening) cooked by new chef-landlord, friendly if not always speedy service, more contemporary dining conservatory; background music; children and dogs welcome, picnic-sets on small flower-bordered lawn looking across to village green, open all day except closed Mon.
