The good pub guide review
Traditional little pub stretching back from heavily black-beamed bar through lounge to light and airy end room, up to seven well kept Marstons-related ales plus a weekend guest (tasting glasses available) and more than 30 whiskies, friendly knowledgeable staff, good pork pies; darts; children (until 9pm) and dogs welcome, open all day.
Licensee’s introduction
A small, highly traditional alehouse serving up to 7 real ales. A large selection of malt whiskies. 2 further rooms behind the bar, the back room can be closed off for meetings. No fruit machines, pool tables or jukebox, just good conversation and a bit of blues tinkling away in the background.
Only food available is delicious locally-made pork pies.
