The good pub guide review
Friendly 19th-c pub towards the southern outskirts of town; two modernised linked areas with one or two quirky touches, chunky pine tables and kitchen chairs on stripped-wood floor, a couple of leather sofas by open fire, well kept Shepherd Neame and good food cooked by chef-landlord from shortish menu; children (till 8.30pm) and dogs welcome, seats out on fenced roadside terrace, open all day.
