The good pub guide review
Informal dining pub run by local farmers in pretty village below Ridgeway and White Horse; well liked seasonal food (including breakfast) from daily changing menu including properly hung home-reared steaks, Arkells beers, organic wines and good choice of whiskies and gins; mainly scrubbed-wood furnishings on bare boards or parquet, log fire on left and little maze of pews, refurbished upstairs dining area (same level as garden) with own bar and good disabled access/loos; children and dogs welcome, modern furniture on front deck, picnic-sets on grass and among trees, 12 bedrooms in separate building.
