Steps up to small pub tucked away from the main road; well kept Hogs Back TEA, Surrey Hills Shere Drop and a guest, enjoyable food from lunchtime sandwiches to blackboard specials, friendly attentive service, pleasant outlook from cosy plank-panelled front bar, carpeted dining area with grandfather clock and log fire; background music, live summer jazz outside (Sun 4.30-7.30pm); children and dogs welcome, plenty of tables in pretty terraced garden (some in open-sided timber shelters), lovely valley views, open (and food) all day.
