Comfortable and welcoming 17th-c pub with well kept Batemans and guests, a dozen wines by the glass and enjoyable sensibly priced home-made food (not Sun evening, Mon, Tues), OAP weekday set lunch, helpful friendly staff, beams, old quarry tiles and brick fireplace, historic local photographs; quiz third Sun of month, darts, TV; children welcome, picnic-sets in back garden, interesting church and priory, open all day Sat, till 8pm Sun (later on quiz nights), closed lunchtimes Mon and Tues.
