Licensee Introduction

Family run, fresh food pub set in beautiful Surrey countryside. Classic British pub food with regularly changing specials. The menu is not huge, to ensure stunning fresh food. We focus on sourcing local produce and pride ourselves on the small details too - making our own chips, burgers, smoking our own meat, keeping our menu seasonal… The pub has a large tranquil, natural garden, which gets the sun all day, set well away from any busy roads. Alice Holt forest is next door with plenty of space and activities for kids. Inside the main pub dates from the 17th Century and was originally used to make bread for the village. There’s an open fire, stone flooring, and a great selection of local ales too. There’s also a decent wine selection and gins too - with a number of lovely local choices. Booking is essential, especially at weekends. There are a limited number of covered and heated outdoor tables available. You can even sit near our Pygmy goats.
