Welcoming 17th-c whitewashed pub in the thatched-cottage village of Godshill; good food with emphasis on fresh locally sourced produce (some home-grown), booking advised weekends, four well kept ales including Goddards and a house beer from Yates, Godshill's cider, plenty of wines by the glass and some interesting home-made liqueurs, good friendly service, spacious bar and two front dining areas, beams, bare boards, slate floors and woodburner; children and dogs welcome in certain parts, garden with terrace and play area, shop selling home-made and local produce, limited parking but free car park nearby, open all day, closed Sun evening (except bank and summer holidays).
