The good pub guide review
Unspoilt and unchanging little mews pub with no-nonsense plain-talking landlord; low-ceilinged panelled front room with unusual sunken counter, log-effect gas fire in old range, narrow passage down to even smaller bar, well kept Adnams from 19th-c handpumps, uncomplicated food, theatrical mementoes and other interesting memorabilia including a what-the-butler-saw machine and one-armed bandit; no mobiles, live music first Sun of the month, individual background music; well behaved children and dogs allowed, a few seats outside, open (and food) all day.
