Three Stags Heads

The good pub guide review

Basic unchanging pub (17th-c longhouse) of great individuality; old country furniture on flagstones, heating from cast-iron kitchen ranges, old photographs, locals in favourite corners, well kept Abbeydale ales including a strong house beer (Black Lurcher), proper cider and lots of bottled beers, simple food; no credit cards or mobile phones; well behaved children and dogs welcome, hill views from front terrace, good walking country, open Thurs and Fri evenings and all day weekends.
