The good pub guide review

Comfortably updated, partly black and white 16th-c village inn with snug nooks and corners; log fires, low beams, dark red plasterwork and some stripped brickwork, bow-window seat and leather armchairs in softly lit carpeted bar, well kept Hobsons, Wye Valley and decent selection of wines, big side dining room in converted hay loft with rafters and huge window, enjoyable reasonably priced food from pubby choices up including meal deals, cheerful attentive service; children welcome, no garden, ten bedrooms in modern block behind.
