Unspoilt country inn with beamed cottagey rooms, one with large glass chandelier over assorted tables and chairs, another with tartan-covered wall banquettes and double-sided woodburner; other décor includes Staffordshire china ornaments, old paintings/engravings and a grandfather clock; Bass, Thornbridge Jaipur and guests, several wines by the glass from a decent list, good selection of malt whiskies and more than 40 gins, enjoyable traditional food including good Sun carvery; children and dogs (in bar) welcome, seats in lovely garden with fine views, eight bedrooms and three self-catering cottages, open all day, food all day Fri-Sun.
