Black Boy

The good pub guide review

Busy traditional 16th-c inn with cosy beamed lounge bar, sumptuously furnished and packed with tables, additional dining room across corridor and dimly lit atmospheric public bar, exposed stonework and wall murals, mainly Welsh beers from likes of Cwrw Ll'n, Purple Moose and Tiny Rebel, nine wines by the glass and extensive selection of whiskies and gins, good generous food from sandwiches up including lunchtime set deal, efficient friendly service and lots of Welsh chat; background music, TV, disabled access (ramps) and loos, tables out on pedestrianised street, history-rich bedrooms (some in different buildings), open (and food) all day.
