The good pub guide review

Popular 14th-c thatched inn with unchanging character bar; old bottles and jugs hanging from beams above the roughly timbered counter, farm tools and traps on stripped-stone walls, high-backed settles forming snug booths, flagstones and log fire, ales such as Butcombe, Keystone and Three Daggers, real cider and a dozen wines by the glass, good sensibly priced food (not Sun evening) from interesting menu; children and dogs welcome, quiet garden behind with terraces and courtyard, good surrounding walks, comfortable bedrooms and self-catering cottage, open all day (all day Sat, Sun in winter).
