Lively village pub (can get packed) with interesting décor in various interconnecting bars; beams and pillars, mix of wooden dining chairs, settles, built-in wall seats and squashy sofas on bare boards or flagstones, driftwood sculptures, animal hides and an arty bull's head, log fires, ales such as Marstons Pedigree, more than 100 bottled beers and ciders, also good selection of wines, gins and cocktails, popular food including wood-fired pizzas and range of grilled yakitori sticks, cheerful staff, upstairs restaurant; background music; children and dogs (in bar) welcome, sizeable heated terrace with neatly set tables and chairs under big parasols, open (and some food) all day.
