Welcoming beamed and raftered ex-barn; large open-plan bar with wood and tiled floors, several recesses and log fire in big fireplace, good selection of enjoyable home-made food (not Sun evening) from daily changing menu, steak night Thurs, well kept Harveys and one or more local guests, upstairs eating area, games room; occasional live music; children welcome, large two-level back terrace with painted picnic-sets, same village as Virginia Woolf's Monk's House (NT) and near South Downs Way, open all day.
