The good pub guide review

Character pub attracting good mix of locals and visitors; long unspoilt bar with wood panelling and granite floors, stripped pine, real log fire, well kept Skinners and a house beer (Zennor Mermaid) from Sharps, real cider, sensibly priced wines and decent coffee, good food from soup of the day to fresh local fish, back dining room, polite helpful staff; Thurs folk night; children, muddy boots and dogs welcome, tables in small suntrap courtyard and a beer garden, lovely windswept setting near coast path and village church with its 15th-c carved mermaid bench, five bedrooms in building next door (good breakfast), open all day.
