The good pub guide review

Welsh-speaking village pub at end of short whitewashed terrace; main bar with exposed stone walls, slate floor and woodburner in large fireplace, pews and window benches, old farm tools on the ceiling, snug with panelled booths and potbelly stove, long spacious dining room behind with contrasting red walls, good home-cooked food including carvery (Weds evening, Sun lunchtime), Robinsons ales and decent range of wines by the glass, friendly helpful staff; children and dogs welcome, wheelchair access (two long shallow steps at front), Snowdonia National Park views from garden with play area, camping and good nearby walks, handy for Plas Brondanw Gardens and not far from Portmeirion, closed Mon and lunchtime Tues.
