Spacious old thatched pub in pretty village; simple, beamed public bar with mate's chairs and stools around wooden tables on ancient floor tiles, two-way fireplace (not in use) into snug, woodburner here and in main room with more beams and standing timbers, tartan-patterned chairs and cushioned wall seats around nice old tables, local photographs, Sharps Doom Bar, Timothy Taylors Landlord and Woodfordes Wherry, local cider and 14 wines by the glass, well liked fairly priced food (all day Sat, not Sun evening, Mon) from pub favourites up, long dining extension; background music (occasional live music), quiz Tues, board games; well behaved children and dogs (in bar) welcome, disabled facilities, contemporary furniture on terrace, picnic-sets on grass, fenced play area, river walks, closed Mon lunchtime, otherwise open all day.
