The good pub guide review
Handsome 16th-c pub overlooking main square of Rutland's county town; half a dozen rooms spread over two floors, imaginative furnishings including cushioned church pews, long oak settles and walls decorated with copper pans, vintage metal signs and plenty of prints (including of Lord Horatio, of course), Oakham JHB and guest ales from maybe Black Sheep, Caledonian and Fullers, 13 gins and 18 wines by the glass, tasty food including lunchtime ciabattas, pizzas, pub classics and weekend breakfasts; background music, board games; pretty outdoor terrace with hanging baskets and picnic-sets, children and dogs (except one dining room) welcome, open all day, food all day Sat and Sun.
