Bustling dining pub with highly regarded food, good drinks choice, attentive staff and seats in neat garden
The good pub guide review
A rural pub and restaurant in the north Cotswolds, situated in the idyllic village of Childswickham. Many customers come for the particularly good food after enjoying the extensive surrounding countryside. There's also a proper chatty, bar with friendly regulars (often with their dogs). Also, leather sofas and armchairs and attentive staff serving Bombardier, Greene King Abbot Ale, Sharps Doom Bar and Wye Valley HPA on handpump, 16 wines by the glass (with Friday evening deals on champagne and prosecco), malt whiskies, a growing collection of gins and farm cider; background music. The main dining area is a bright conservatory with doors opening to the garden and high-backed, fabric-covered chairs at wooden tables on bare floorboards. There's more seating outside in the form of smart rattan furniture on a paved terrace shaded by large umbrellas. Lovely surrounding walks. Disabled facilities.
