The good pub guide review

Now called the Weighbridge Steakhouse & Bar (rather than Brewhouse), this stylish bar puts a modern twist on Swindon's industrial heritage. Built in 1906 and once a weighing station for trains, it's a light, airy brick building, with illuminated trees emphasising the sense of space, station clocks on the walls and upholstered, teal-coloured stools lining the bar. Six handpumps dispense their own Weighbridge beers with three regulars including Brinkworth Village and Pooleys Golden as well as seasonal brews, while friendly staff also serve cocktails and several wines by the glass. Smartly modern and open-plan, the dining room has a steel-tensioned high-raftered roof (the big central skylight adds even more light), attractive high-backed orange or teal chairs and long wall banquettes, with bare brick walls hung with black and white pictures of the building's past. There are some seats on an outside terrace.

The good pub guide food review

The menu has changed to reflect its new name, with a focus on 35-day dry-aged beef steaks in a range of cuts and weights with a choice of sauces and sides. Also panko-breaded squid with garlic aioli, fried chicken waffle, caesar salad, a fish of the day, burgers and chips including a vegan version, grilled half roast chicken, baby back ribs, and puddings such as banoffi pie and apple crumble.
