Simply furnished, bustling pub in a quiet street with interesting food and a thoughtful range of drinks; seats outside
The good pub guide review
A short stroll from Chelsea Harbour, this friendly Fulham dining pub is always busy with lots of well heeled young locals and visitors, offering an informal but gently civilised atmosphere. The open-plan bar features a mix of wooden dining chairs, the odd settle and cushioned wall seat and scrubbed pine, painted or polished wooden tables on bare boards. The dining area is quieter and more spacious; background music. From the solid, central counter, efficient staff serve Otter Bitter, Sambrooks Wandle and a couple of changing guest ales on handpump and 18 wines by the glass (including fizz). Upstairs is a private dining room. Outside, there are seats and tables at the front on the quiet residential street. Disabled access.
The good pub guide food review
Enjoyable food includes pork and apple sausage rolls, truffle mac 'n' cheese fritters, seared bream fillet with Cornish new potato niçoise, thyme-roasted poussin with spicy potato wedges, caramelised lemon and aioli, flat-iron steak with a choice of sauce, crispy battered haddock and chips, roast cauliflower with Persian-spiced lentils, spinach and chickpeas, and desserts such as sticky toffee pudding and pear and pistachio tart with vanilla ice-cream.
