The good pub guide review

This cheerful and welcoming golden-stone pub is just behind the green. The beamed and timbered bar has a bustling, easy-going atmosphere, antique high-backed dark settles, large solid tables and a blazing log fire. You'll find North Cotswold Green Man IPA and Shagweaver, Stroud Tom Long and Timothy Taylors Landlord on handpump alongside ten wines by the glass, ten malt whiskies, 20 gins and farm ciders. There's an assortment of pub games including darts, Jenga, shut the box, dominoes and ring the bull; TV and background music. The hardwood chairs and tables outside are set among flowers on a slightly raised front terrace. Children over the age of seven are welcome. Disabled access and five stylish bedrooms. Broadway is a handsome town with many visitors, including walkers on the long-distance Cotswold Way.

The good pub guide food review

Remarkable value food includes lunchtime sandwiches, home-made pies, devilled whitebait, omelettes, locally made faggots and chips, venison and pork sausages with mash and onion gravy, fisherman's pie, gammon and egg, chicken breast with chorizo, parsnips and sautéed potatoes, sirloin steak with a choice of sauce and chips, and puddings such as spotted dick and treacle tart, both with custard; they also offer a pie and pudding deal.
