They are the White Lion at Barthomley (Cheshire), Barley Mow at Kirk Ireton and Flying Childers at Stanton in Peak (both Derbyshire), Square & Compass at Worth Matravers (Dorset), Harrow in Steep (Hampshire), Three Horseshoes in Warham (Norfolk), Crown in Churchill and Halfway House in Pitney (both Somerset), Kings Head in Laxfield (Suffolk) and Olde Mitre in London. The Kings Head in Laxfield is our Unspoilt Pub of the Year 2020.

COUNTRY PUB OF THE YEAR 2020

We look for a friendly welcome after a walk, a roaring log fire, comfortable seats in homely surroundings, warming food and a thoughtful choice of drinks. Our Top Ten Country Pubs are the White Horse at Hedgerley and Crown in Little Missenden (both in Buckinghamshire), Pheasant in Burwardsley (Cheshire), Rugglestone in Widecombe (Devon), Brace of Pheasants in Plush (Dorset), Royal Oak at Fritham (Hampshire), Royal Oak in Cardington (Shropshire), Malet Arms in Newton Tony (Wiltshire), Fleece at Bretforton (Worcestershire) and Harp in Old Radnor (Wales). A charming inn overlooking the heights of Radnor Forest, with log fires and a characterful bar, and offering comfortable bedrooms with glorious views, the venerable Harp in Old Radnor is our Country Pub of the Year 2020.

Our Top Ten Town Pubs are the Lion in Winchcombe (Gloucestershire), Wykeham Arms in Winchester (Hampshire), Wharf in Manchester (Lancashire), Bank House in King’s Lynn (Norfolk), Victoria in Durham (Northumbria), Lion & Pheasant in Shrewsbury (Shropshire), Old Green Tree in Bath (Somerset), Old Joint Stock in Birmingham (Warwickshire), Olde Mitre in London and Babbity Bowster in Glasgow (Scotland). A former tobacco merchant’s house with a thoroughly convivial atmosphere, the Babbity Bowster in Glasgow is our Town Pub of the Year 2020.

With lovely bedrooms in an exceptional place, the Kings Head in Bledington is our Inn of the Year 2020.
