Crown & Trumpet, Broadway, Worcestershire, WR12 7AE – The Good Pub Guide

Good Pub Guide Recommended

Unreconstructed honest local with good real ale and decent food
One happy reader wrote about his visit here that he was ‘delighted to find such a genuine pub. There was a blazing fire and a folk group – really lovely', and that's just how we know this cheerfully bustling down-to-earth place. The relaxed beamed and timbered bar has antique dark high-backed settles, large solid tables and a blazing log fire. Seasonal beers (one for each season) are brewed for the pub by the local Stanway Brewery and served on handpump alongside Cotswold Spring Codrington Codger and Stroud Tom Long, local cider, hot toddies, mulled wine and a good range of soft drinks. They have a an assortment of pub games, including darts, shove-ha'penny, cribbage, shut the box, dominoes and ring the bull as well as a quiz machine, TV and piped music. The hardwood tables and chairs outside, among flowers on a slightly raised front terrace, are popular with walkers - even in adverse weather.

Reader Comments

A real local pub serving a variety of locally brewed beers such as "Cottswold Gold" brewed at nearby Stanyway House, some which change with the seasons; a variety of wines and lagers. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and welcome tourists and locals alike.
Food is wholesome and not too exotic and relatively cheap for the area.
Entertainment on some nights such as jazz and blues.
Unobtrusive piped music at times.
