The BitterSweet Partnership Summer Pub Picks

Here at BitterSweet Partnership, we’re all very excited about the summer arriving – we’re determined to enjoy all five minutes of it (and spend the rest of the summer months lamenting how the British weather has disappointed us yet again).

With that in mind, we’ve been swapping recommendations of our favourite summer pubs across England. While The Good Pub Guide of course have their own list of great summer pubs, we couldn’t resist recommending some with a female stamp of approval...

Oxford is a perfect place to spend a summer’s day – it has fantastic pubs, beautiful architecture and the opportunity to go punting – what more could you want? One of the most famous of the pubs is the Turf Tavern, which has lovely outside courtyards, both shaded and sunny. The food’s tasty too!

If you fancy a visit to a traditional village inn, The Cock at Roade near Northampton comes recommended for its large beer garden. Again, the food is nice too – we like that the menu has a range of salads for summer eating!

If the sunshine brings you to the beaches of Brighton, while you’re there we recommend a trip to the Open House – it has a great beer garden and some art too!

Sunshine, culture and beer – what more could you ask for?

Which are your favourite summer pubs? We’d love to hear your recommendations.
